ORIENTEERING

Orienteering at ICC 2019

Friday, July 19th, 7am - 9am

The orienteering event will be held on Friday, July 19th at Shiokaze Park in Odaiba, Tokyo, a park with nice sea side atmosphere and with splendid urban scenery near conference center. Three enthusiastic orienteers work as staff: Taketo Kobayashi is geography teacher of Japanese high school, cartographer and orienteering competitor, Jörg Vetter is Ocad (GIS software for orienteering map) Japan reseller and orienteering competitor, Shin Murakoshi is Professor of Shizuoka University (Cognitive Psychology), cartographer, orienteering competitor, and a previous IOF(international orienteering federation) council member.

Orienteering event, Shiokaze park, is located 15 minutes walk from the ICC conference venue.
Registration is going to open from 7:00am to 9:00am
Because of heat and humidity, the event will be held in the morning, with an early start at 7:00am. From 7:00am to 9:00am, Participants can play orienteering.

We will offer three courses. Advanced Beginner (Yellow, 1.5km, 12 controls), Intermediate (Orange, 2.5km, 18 controls), and Advanced (Brown, 3.5km, 25 controls). Each course estimated winning time is 20 minutes.
Emit is used as the electronic timing system. We recommend participants to bring their own E-card, but E-card rental is available at the registration.
Changing room and shower facility is not available at the event venue.
Participants are requested to change clothes and take a shower at their own hotel.
